We found the train station, did a little research, and then headed over to San Gimignano. Parking was an adventure in itself. We managed to find a couple of spots in one of the last lots available. Thankfully an elevator was located to save me from the march up the steps. These girls have totally got my back.
I loved San Gimignano, a photographer's paradise. Here are a few shots of us running amuck and some of just San Gimignano. The skies may have been gray and it may have been a bit colder than we expected, but it was still an amazing day.
Today was our first day of shopping. We did manage to bolster the economy, however we may need a shipping container in order to get everything back home. We may also have bought some gifts for those we left behind at home, but then again, maybe we didn't... There may have been a few of us who needed to do a check on the remaining cash in order to see how much damage we can do in Florence tomorrow.
We ventured out to a PAM Superstore to pick up some additional groceries. Sometimes the GPS can at least get you in the general vicinity of where you need to be and that is good enough when you have Cheryl and Kim leading the way. Those two are just freaky good at figuring out where we really need to go. This is a good thing or we would still be driving around Italy trying to find the market.
After loading up another cart with water and other assorted items, we headed back to the villa via all the winding roads and round abouts. The plan was to just hang out as we needed to get up early to head over to Certaldo in order to catch the train to Florence.
Once we got back to the villa, the magic elves put together a salad in addition to some bread, Italian salami, turkey, cheeses, etc. It was quite good. I may actually begin to like salad, looks like I will have to ask the resident Weight Watchers leader how she made it. Then again, maybe not, as it includes chopping up stuff and that comes into conflict with my lifelong fear of knives. Whew, that was close, I almost committed to making a salad and even worse, the commitment would have been in writing!
Things were starting to wind down when Raven Rick came over from the villa next door to hang out for a bit. I think it was payback for us crashing their place last night. Eventually others were sent over to retrieve Rick, but they were also delayed in their task. Sorry Gabbi, Kaite, and Megan. After a few more of our delay tactics, Rick wandered back next door and we all headed upstairs to get some sleep. So much for our early night, but totally worth it.
All in all another great day. Plus we all still like each other!
Ciao for now.

All those purses!. I would buy one and ditch my old one.
