Salerno - The Amalfi Coast

Today, June 16th, we took an excursion from the port of Salerno to Ravello and then on to Positano.  It was a very windy road, full of switchbacks, with absolutely stunning views.

The first stop was Ravello.  We set out to get to the Villa Cimbrone.  On the way I quickly met up with my old nemesis, steps.  My goodness, the steps and the uneven ground may be the end of me on this trip.
Every step was so worth it for the views.  We didn’t have time to visit all the areas of the Villa, so if I ever get another opportunity to come back I would definitely spend much more time here.
After leaving Ravello we continued on the winding road to Positano.  We found a parking spot, okay John Lukka our driver found a spot because none of us want to be driving here, and we all piled out of the van and were off to find some lunch.  We stopped at Chez Black and enjoyed some pizza and beverages of our choosing.
After lunch, Dana led us up another massive hill to make sure we all got to enjoy some more amazing views of this area.  I’m not sure how many times I will talk about the views while on this trip, so you’ll just have to cut me some slack.
On the way back to meet up with John Lukka, we accidentally fell into a gelato shop, again.

We met back up with John Lukka and took a different path back to the ship, which was thankfully a bit quicker.  We spent the remainder of the day by the pool attempting to cool off from a long day of seeing the sights of the Amalfi coast.

While waiting in line to seated for dinner, we were once again asked if we were a group of friends out on holiday. Heidi glanced at us all and then said, “We started out as friends, we’ve known each other since we were little, but now we are family.”  Well said Babita, well said.

Ta Le’me (See you soon!)

P.S. We finally have some reliable internet connectivity so I will attempt to get caught up on the blog posts...
