We broads gathered for our normal 9:00 AM breakfast and then departed the ship at about 10:00. Our first destination was to find the windmills and then wander into Little Venice. The views and the winding alleys were beautiful, yes, I know I keep saying how beautiful everything is, but it truly is a beautiful part of God’s creation.
We stopped in Little Venice for some refreshment along the sea wall. The beverages were refreshing and the sea splashing over the wall and onto us was also refreshing.
We came across Petro’s (Peter) the Pelican and then continued on to wind our way through the maze of alleys while shopping. Let me say that the shopping in Crete was much better than Mykonos. Mykonos basically had the same stores on repeat, except for the high end shopping. We stopped at a nice little place for lunch and basically stuffed ourselves on bread, gyros, spaghetti, pita bread, and tzatziki. Of course we stopped for gelato, it just wouldn’t be right if we didn’t.
After a bit more of wandering the alleys of Mykonos we all eventually headed back on the water taxis to the port to get back on the ship. It ended up being dinner at the buffet as we all needed to get our bags packed and out to the porter by 10:00 PM. I had packed the small baggage scale to weigh all the broads bags to ensure they would still be under the 50 pound limit. They weren’t even close, it looks like we all have more shopping to do.
Tomorrow we will be in Athens and then we catch an afternoon flight to Santorini.
Surprisingly enough, we do still like each other.
Ta Le’me
