Gordon, you are clueless

Last night we talked to Gordon, we never really figured out his job on the ship, he just seemed to walk around a lot.  However, he told us that we didn’t need to go into Crete because there wasn’t really anything there, the shopping would be much better in Mykonos.  Lies, Gordon, all lies.

This morning we were in Crete (Chania), finally we are in Greece.  What does the Princess Patter have to say about Crete? Well let me tell you.  The old town of Crete or Chania with its maze-like alleys, beautiful mansions, fountains, and elaborate churches is wrapped around a Venetian port that features a picturesque lighthouse, built in 1570.  It is best known as the legendary home of King Minos and the part man and part bull creature known as the Minotaur.

Well now that you have that fascinating bit of information, let me tell you what we did.  We decided to have a leisurely breakfast and then meet up and hang out in the sun with an occasional cool down period in one of the pools aboard the ship.  The plan for the afternoon was to leave the ship around 4:00 and go into town for happy hour maybe have a few appetizers, look around old town a bit and then head back before the 8:00 deadline.  Diane and Heidi decided to head in a little earlier.  Not long after they got off the ship we received a text from Heidi.  “We found a cute HH place. We are waiting for 6 broads at the bus stop.” The rest of us broads got off the ship found the bus and were on our way.

This is where we get into Gordon’s lies.  Old town in Crete was a lot of fun.  We met the other broads at the bus stop and off we went to happy hour.  We ordered some appetizers and beverages.  As usual we told the restaurant owner our little story and one thing led to another and suddenly he is at the table with a gun full of ouzo.  Yes, I said gun.  For those of you who like the taste of black licorice, this is for you.

We left the restaurant and headed down towards old town.  There were a lot of cute shops and we spent a little bit of money and then stopped off for one more beverage before found ourselves back on the bus and back on the ship.  You never want to be those people who names are being called out because you are not back on the ship in time.
Guess who likes the taste of black licorice? 😘
We had a late dinner up in the buffet and ended the night with our normal coffee and ice cream and listened while the crowd cheered as the last two late people ran for the ship.

As for you Gordon, you need to get a clue, Crete was fun and the shopping was great!

On to Mykonos!  Yes, we still tolerate each other, I mean like each other. 😉

Ta Le’me (See you soon!)
