One More Day

Our last full day of Spring Break and how do we spend it, just like we have spent all of the other days.  We are creative like that...

Heidi headed down to the Shell Shack to pick up our fresh seafood for tonights dinner and even the Shell Shack guy knows it is our last night here.  She also whipped up another batch of salsa and guacamole for us to enjoy this afternoon.  We have eaten our way through numerous batches of salsa, guacamole, and popcorn this past week.  She may be happy when we are gone.  =)

We headed down to the beach this afternoon all sporting our shirts that Heidi gave us as a welcome to Spring Break gift.  She also gave each of us a little shell with a candle, very cute.  Best hostess ever!  We managed to wrangle up another victim to take our pictures this afternoon and here are the results. Pretty cute for a bunch of 50+ women.

Tonights dinner was peel and eat shrimp, grouper, salad, and garlic bread.  With caramel cake for dessert.  Finally, dinner was completely finished by an amazing sunset.

It has been such a great week of Spring Break with my HS girls.  Looking forward to our next adventure.

Peace!

Another Day of Doing Whatever

The day began with a little bit of church on the beach.  Well not for us as most of us were still either sleeping or in pajamas.  Except for Heidi, who had just gotten back from her morning run.  But it was nice to listen to from the comfort of the house with a cup of coffee.

A little bit later a stroll was taken through part of Mexico beach.  Here are a few pictures of this rather cute little town including a place to rent some bikes, some of the local shops and picture of part of the beach taken from the town pier.

After a walk through part of the town, some of us wandered the other direction to grab a little lunch from Mr. G's Smokehouse & Seafood grill.  Their restaurant is merely a trailer with a big ole smoker out front and a few picnic tables to eat at, but everything we had, which included ribs, brisket, and an ahi tuna taco was outstanding.  The owners were kind enough to come out and let me take their picture.

More walks and some napping was done in the afternoon and then Cheryl whipped up a batch of Pinot Grigio Sangria.  This also was delicious and may become the summer get together beverage of choice.

The day was capped off with a quick run down to the sand to take a couple of pictures followed by a movie and dinner at the house, which consisted of burgers and salad. No worries people, Heidi and I had Boca burgers, not the beef ones.  =)

Another wonderful day spent with some of the most amazing women...

Peace!

Just Put the Song on Repeat

Today we amused all of the people hanging out on the beach with our Max Dance Infusion choreography session held on the deck overlooking the beach.  If those folks learned nothing else, they should now know the lyrics to "Lord I Lift Your Name on High." The only person not giving any input on the choreography was me, because I have no skills in this area.  However, I was highly entertained, not to mention educated by everything that the other ladies put into it.

We all took part in what has become our daily routine of running, walking, 3x3 rings, tripping, falling down, etc.  Well not the tripping and falling down, but it could happen, it did in Italy, so you never know.

This was the view I had today as I contemplated throwing myself down the steps once I was told we were going to take group pictures.  Thankfully I decided against it.  Just kidding Dana and Heidi, I love group pictures, love them!!

Here is the token group shop, if you squint you can see us.

We walked down to Toucan's for dinner tonight.  The food was good and the company was even better.  Tomorrows plan is more of the same, but we all know you will be back to check it out.

Peace!

It's always a beautiful day when you are with friends

It may have started out as an overcast day, but really when you are with your friends, every day is beautiful, and this day turned out to be just that, beautiful.

With this group of girls we laugh, we cry (well not so much on this trip, but it is still early), we have deep conversations and then we are just plain goofy.  There are dance parties and choreography sessions for the Dance Max Fusion 3x3fit classes, but most of all there is just a lot of love and laughter.

We were all up and active this morning doing the running, walking, walking/running, and biking thing.  Oddly enough each one of us went on our morning fitness excursion by ourselves. This is somewhat odd as we seem to like to do things together as a group. This activity may have led into some 3x3Fit time.

There is some serious dedication to this fitness thing. So different than when we would just hang out and be lazy all day every day.  I guess wisdom really does come with age.

Now the question of the day is can anyone really tell who that little speck of a person is parasailing this afternoon.  I mean really, who is the most adventurous of this group?? Any guesses?

Okay, we don't know either, but it wasn't any of us.  =)

We finished off the day with dinner down at the Fish House with some all you can eat crab legs, peel and eat shrimp, grouper and pasta.  Mark was with us for the evening and had to endure these five woman and all of our demands during dinner.  Some of us were too warm, others too cold.  Imagine that...  And the biggest shocker of all, we stopped for ice cream on the walk back to the hacienda.

Well time for some massage and more conversation.

Peace!

Hello Mexico Beach

Whew!  We made it!  The flights were easy peasy and the ride in the clown car, also known as the Prius was well, umm, lets just say those of us in the back seat were cozy. It is a good thing we all love each other.  =)  Best of all, ALL of the luggage fit.

There was a quick stop on the way the the hacienda for a couple of malts at Sonic. What can we say, other than ice cream is a soother!  By the way, when you order a large malt at Sonic, it is large, like way more than any one 50+ woman could eat by themselves.  However, they were only about $2.00 a piece, so there were absolutely no qualms about throwing them away.  Other than avoiding a few deer on the way to our destination, it was a quick and quiet trip.

Our first full day down here in Mexico Beach is more than likely just the first of several relaxing days  of doing absolutely nothing.  The sunrise this morning was beautiful. Yes, it was behind me, but I like the way this picture looks, so there you have it.

There was some running, some walking and some walking/running done this morning followed by some devotions on the porch, reading, naps on the beach and even a couple of afternoon walks on the beach.  Here are a few pictures from todays activities.

We wrapped up the day with a quick group picture before a fabulous dinner prepared by Dana and Heidi.  Salad, bread with some dipping oil, followed by fresh grouper and shrimp grilled up to perfection.  Uh oh, I almost forgot to mention the wine, you have to have some wine.

Finished the day watching the sun set over the gulf.

Another wonderful day spent with amazing friends.  Doesn't get much better than this...

It’s Never Too Late To Spring Break 50+!!

We may not be going abroad, nor are all eight of us able to go, but since Heidi has the house until the end of March, we have decided to make a spring break trip out of it.

So Cheryl, Dana, Joann, and I are heading down to hang out with Heidi and warm up our not so old bones.  We are going to do what we do best.  Most of you already know what that means, talk, eat, drink, talk, talk, talk, dance party, talk, eat, drink, and sleep. Repeat as often as possible.

There are rumors of Bibby's boot camp, Dance Max Fusion classes by Joann, daily walks and additional 3x3fit ring workouts.  I'm looking forward to seeing some sea critters while strolling on the beach.  Heidi has already captured some pictures of a few of these.

Lets not forget about those sunsets.

I may need a vacation to recover from this vacation, but it is all good.  Anytime I get to spend with these women just makes my life richer!  Love them all!
